Here’s to new beginnings

Welcome to my weird and wonderful blog. I'm not entirely sure what it's going to be about but I still hope that most of you will stick around. I've got a lot of ideas and I'm really excited to share some of them on this website. Since I kind of suck at introducing myself, I was inspired by lovely Grace to start this blog with a couple of random facts about my life. I've only followed her blog for a couple of months, but it's already one of my favorites and I'm really glad that my girlfriend Katie introduced us to each other.

As you probably already know, my name is Niina. I was born and raised in Finland, but I moved to England for university six months ago. Even though I'm really proud of my heritage, I couldn't imagine moving back and I'm much happier here. I can't drive. Growing up, Carrie Fisher was my hero and she still inspires me to be a better person every single day. I'm an intersectional feminist and lesbian. Cats and hedgehogs never fail to make me smile. I'm studying film production at University of Brighton. I wrote a blog in Finnish for over three years when I was in secondary and upper secondary school.

I can't stand hot drinks. My second name is Elina after my dad's mother because I was born on her birthday. I applied for a job at the cinema earlier today and I really want to get it. My girlfriend and I met on Twitter. Young adult is my all time favorite book genre, but I've been reading a lot of poetry and comics lately. I'm currently living in a student house with four housemates and it's really wonderful most of the time. I was raised Lutheran but I'm an agnostic atheist. Growing up, I wanted to be a journalist. I'm a ravenclaw, INFP and Sagittarius.

One day at a time, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Bold Type totally changed my life. I'm really passionate about diversity and representation on screen. My biggest dream is to write and publish a novel. Wonder Woman, Quake and Supergirl are my favorite superheroes. I've somehow managed to fall down half a flight of stairs twice in the space of two months and I've now got really funky scars on both of my legs. Getting my septum pierced made me a lot more confident. I'm mentally ill and on the waiting list for therapy. I collect DVDs, postcards, lipsticks and plants. When I was little, my family had a dog called Iiro. Even though I don't miss Finland, I'm really excited to take my girlfriend there in the summer.

Well done if you made it to the end, I'll be back soon with more content!
